Apparently there are those who feel they need a copy of the local paper more than the county library, which prompted the staff to quote the Old Testament decree from God to the prophet Moses in an attempt to curb theft.
Thanks to the library staff in San Andreas for proving the point, that our society is centered on the teachings of the Bible, contrary to what some would say.
Let us not deny our roots and traditions that made us great, but embrace our history and traditions that are and always will be the strength of the American spirit.

Darron, At the post office last thursday, I saw a lady purchase a valley springs paper and she handed her friend one and then layed two more on top of the stand. The next person who came by picked up both papers and when she saw me in the car, She gave me the bird and walked away. I hope this is not what normal GOD fearing people consider being O.K.

God fearing aside, that is theft.
To pay for one paper, take two and leave two more on top is essentially stealing 3 papers. How are newspapers, most of which are suffering due to the economy and technology changes, supposed to survive when they get ripped off like this?
This is just another symptom of where our society has gone with declining ethics and morals displayed by many of our public servants and also Hollywood celebrity types, which influence the masses whether we admit it or not.
You really think that our society is in decline because people are stealing newspapers? Like this type of behavior hasn’t been with us since day one? And also, newspapers do not make their money off the .50 per paper- it’s from the advertising. No need to “fear God”- just do the right thing. Jesus told us to do unto others as we would have done to us. What more do you need?
