Spellman for Supervisor

Let the 2014 campaign debates begin!

SEIU_candidate night d5 candidates (2)

Here we are again. It’s 2014 and we thought we got rid of the special interest Russ Thomas camp but they are a feisty bunch and have come back for round two.

Their scheme this time is to run two candidates from the Russ Thomas team, other than Thomas with the hope that people won’t make the connection or are new to town since 2010 and won’t catch on to their game.

Both of these candidates are on record in favor of Rancho Calaveras and the whole western end of the county between 26 and 12 for that matter, to be included in the “Greater Valley Springs Community Plan” that would in affect destroy your peaceful setting in return for “Smart Growth” that includes multi level multi family housing units. These type of units never were or ever should be part of our rural setting in the District 5 area of western Calaveras County. Most of us moved here to get away from that lifestyle to enjoy a peaceful country like setting. I have and will continue to protect your property and way of life from community planners and urban lifestyle proponents.

Here is the scoop……….

Challenger #1.  This gentleman served as Russ Thomas’ political appointee for four years in the roll of Planning Commissioner. Friends of Thomas’ asked me to keep him on as planning commissioner because he would be very helpful for local developers’ interests on projects they had “in the works”. I declined politely, they didn’t like that response and so he has reemerged now as a challenger for Supervisor which would suit their interests even better if he were to get elected.

Challenger #2. This lovely lady was Russ Thomas’ 2010 campaign director for the Valley Springs area. Her apple cart was overturned when Thomas lost and she found herself on the outs after a decade of dreaming and preparing for the day she would be a county supervisor. Out of frustration she spearheaded a failed recall in 2011
that never happened for lack of voter signatures required to conduct a recall. Not to be deterred, she is on the ballot and hoping for your vote on June 3rd.

Her list of prominent community supporters includes Stephen Castellanos the elected Delta College School Board Trustee that guaranteed we will never have a satellite community college campus in Valley Springs (even though we all pay for it in our property tax bill) since he voted for a campus located in Lodi instead of Valley Springs.

Thanks guys!

Spellman for Supervisor 2014

As your elected County Supervisor I am still committed to bringing you the inside scoop (the truth) about local issues and I will never bow down to or become part of  what we all know as “The System”. A group of people that thinks so highly of themselves they know better what to do with your money than you do. They talk a good game but then do the opposite after being elected.

I have proven in the last 4 years that I am true to my word, have not joined the political gang and still have your concerns and desires as my first motive. spellman la contenta head shop

You may hear people say I “don’t get along” with certain people and to that I proudly admit the statement is true! The people I don’t get along with are the people that are used to having their way funded by your tax dollars and I can’t ever go along with that without being untrue to the people who elected me. I’m proud to say I have more respect for you, my neighbors, than false political cronies that want to call me their friend IF I’ll “look the other way” and become part of the gang.

Always in your service!…………..Supervisor Darren Spellman
