Very few Sacramento Politicians seem to care about the law when it comes to imposing new taxes and fees on citizens of the state.
In the month of December I had the opportunity to represent the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors who voted unanimously 5-0 to send an official notice to Sacramento that we are opposed to the new fire fee imposed without the consent of the citizens.
The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors (unanimously), your State Assembly member Kristin Olsen and your State Senator Ted Gaines all opposed the new state fire fee (tax) in your behalf, but the outcome for now is that the fee remains while lawsuits that have been filed against the state work their way through the courts.
